Another Field Day Festival?
Apparently, there are plans for another
Field Day Festival in New York, this time in the Hudson Valley. Plans for the first
Field Day Festival fell through in 2003, when the city of Riverhead, NY refused to give Andrew Dreskin, the festival organizer, the proper permit right at the last minute (it was moved to Giants Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ, to great aversion). The lineup for the 2003
Field Day Festival looked phenomenal, almost at
Coachella-levels of indie-ness, including
Elliott Smith,
Spiritualized,
Beck,
Radiohead,
Blur,
My Morning Jacket, and
22-20s. Dreskin already has the proper documents in place, with fifty to sixty acts playing either July 16 and 17, or July 23 and 24, 2005. Expect such acts as
Radiohead,
The Beastie Boys, and
Norah Jones.
