Explosions In The Sky Score For Thornton?

Billy Bob Thornton is starring in a new movie called "Friday Night Lights." Also starring in this movie is Neo-Country superstar, Tim McGraw. The movie is about a poor Texas town and its high school football team, and how the football team is all that the town has. Rock 'n' Roll superstars Explosions In The Sky are scoring the film. You may ask yourself, "What does this movie and Explosions In The Sky have in common?" Answer: Texas. Explosions In the Sky are based in Midland (home of none other than George W.), and the movie is based on a town in Texas.

Explosions In The Sky are combining old pieces of music that have already appeard on their records (The Earth Is Not A Cold Dead Place, Those Who Tell The Truth Shall Die...) with new pieces that they have written specifically for the movie (an interesting idea if I've ever heard one, and those Explosions In The Sky never cease to amaze me with their musical prowess). The only downside to this OST may be the apparent lack of drums, my personal favorite instrument in Explosions In The Sky. I'm not complaining, and I can't wait for its release on October 15th (I'm not sure when the actual film will be released).

As if you cannot take anymore news about Friday Night Lights, here is the trailer (featuring one of my favorite Beck songs, "The Golden Age").
