CONGRATULATIONS ARDY!

One of my favorite comedians, Andy Samberg, was added to the cast of SNL for the upcoming season. The other two dudes from The Lonely Island, Akiva Shaffer and Jorma Taccone were also hired as writers for the new season. Let's hope they help raise the show out of the hole it's been digging itself in for the past few seasons. If you happen to be bored, go to TLI and watch EVERYTHING, I guarantee you will be amused.

"Do You Want To" and "2 More Years"

If you head over to BBC Radio 1's Steve Lamacq's page and listen to his show that was broadcasted last night, you can hear both Franz Ferdinand's "Do You Want To," and Bloc Party's "2 More Years." The new Franz Ferdinand doesn't really jump out at me, but I'm sure it will grow. The new Bloc Party, on the other hand, sounds pretty good to me. Definitely check it out.

I wish I'd get sent a twenty-five dollar check sent to me...

Canadian MP3 player owners will be getting a refund based on a ruling in Canadian courts, saying that they don't have to pay the "piracy levy" that is hidden in the price of such products as Apple's iPod. Music lovers both in Canada and the U.S. were paying unfair levies on their MP3 players due to the lack of trust the music companies have in their own customers. It really does say a lot about the music industry, not that it could get any worse, though. I'm sure all of the money collected through the levy was sent directly to the artists. Bleh.
