Seriously, Don't Believe The Truth

Noel Gallagher of Oasis says that their new album, Don't Believe The Truth, is better than anything that they've done since Definitely Maybe. Is he mad? Each member contributed songs to the album, which means that it can't possibly eclipse Heathen Chemistry in its quality. I'm praying like hell that this album just happens to be decent, and after hearing the single Lyla, I think that may be all we get -- another marginal Oasis album. Sigh.

There was some classic Liam-bashing by Noel in the article, though: There was never one point where any of us where worried – apart from Liam who’s like a woman who’s on a fucking permanent menstrual cycle all the time about everything. He’s either way up in the clouds or way down in the gutter. So taking him out of the equation, the rest of us knew it was going somewhere and we kind of had it all in our heads we just couldn’t put our finger on why the versions before the album I’ve got in front of me now weren’t sounding right.”

Clear Channel Radio Expansion

As if they couldn't get any greedier, Clear Channel is planning on expanding their firm grip on the radio market by making 300 stations available for internet-streaming on May 1. They plan on lure listeners to their online stations by holding intimate studio sessions, called "Stripped," only available online. If you want to continue your reading on their evils, head over here. Plenty of material is located here to make you very angry.

Payback Is a Grandmother

With the wealth of good music that has already come out this year, and will be coming out this year, I sort of forgot that Common was working on his follow-up to Electric Circus (which was a complete letdown considering its predecessor, Like Water For Chocolate, was so good). His new album, Be, is being produced by none other than Kanye West, which thoroughly excites me. Common has said himself that this album will be more raw. Be will be released on May 24.

Tennessee's a brother to my sister Carolina where they're going to bury me

I don't really like doing YouSendIt links and all, but this is an absolute necessity. The new Ryan Adams song, "Let It Ride", is FANTASTIC. It first showed up at the .org, where people have been praising it incessantly. The praising, however, is not an act of fanboyism. This is a legitimately good song, and raises my expectations for Cold Roses to ridiculous heights. I can see why people are calling it a return to form, where it has that Whiskeytown-feeling to it. It's a wonderful song that you must not pass up. I URGE you all to take advantage of this download -- you will not be disappointed.

MILESSS

The Miles Shirts are available for pick-up as of last Friday. If you haven't picked yours up yet, you can do so by seeing either Rollie or myself after 3:10. For those of you who want one now (you know you all do), we will start taking orders for the second shipment on Tuesday. The first official Miles Monday will be held on March 21. There are currently no Fitzgerald Fridays planned, so don't worry about pulling them out more than once a week. (sorry for the cheesy announcement post)
